PM’s Laptop Scheme Receives Overwhelming Response with 652,155 Student Applications

The Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme for the year 2022-23 has garnered an astounding response from students all across the country. A total of 652,155 students from 143 universities have applied to acquire a personal laptop through the scheme, highlighting the enthusiasm and demand for modern technological resources among the student community.

The scheme, which follows the successful implementation of phase-I and II, where nearly one million laptops were distributed, aims to empower students by providing them with the necessary tools to excel in their educational pursuits. This year, a significant number of 100,000 laptops will be awarded to deserving students, further fostering their access to digital resources.

To ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process, multiple stages of scrutiny and evaluation have been implemented. The applications submitted by students undergo rigorous review and verification by the designated focal persons at their respective universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Following the initial screening, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) generates merit lists through the online system, which will be made available online for public access.

The Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme for the year 2022-23 aims to provide students with modern technological resources, enhancing their educational experience and enabling them to explore new avenues of knowledge.
