President Alvi Okays ‘Pakistan Civil Awards’ for 126 individuals


President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi has approved to confer ‘Pakistan Civil Awards’ for 116 Pakistani and 10 foreign nationals for showing commitment and dedication in their respective fields. Collectively, President has approved names of 126 individuals for the awards

‘Pakistan Civil Awards’ include 39 President’s Award for Pride of Performance, 31 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, 17 Sitara-i-Imtiaz, 17 Tamgha-i-Shuja’at, 6 Hilal-i-Imtiaz, 4 Sitar-i-Pakistan,   3 Sitara-i-Quaid-i-Azam, 3 Sitara-i-Shuja’at, 3 Nishan-i-Imtiaz, 2 Hilal-i-Pakistan, and 1 Tamgha-i-Quaid-i-Azam.

Kishwar Naheed, Darren Sammy, Shahid Hameed, Durdana Butt, Ismail Tara, Mohammad Ali Sadpara, Momina Duraid, Salman Iqbal are few names among the award winners.

Durdana Butt and Mohammad Ali Sadpara have passed away and their family members will receive these awards on their behalf. The ceremony of these awards will take place on Pakistan Day i.e, 23rd March 2022.

In a separate event at President House on Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day,  President Arif Alvi also met with the javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem and weight lifter Talha Talib represented Pakistan in the Tokyo Olympics a few days ago. President acclaimed their performance in the competition and to encourage them, cheques were also given to both of them.  

Earlier in the day, President Dr. Arif Alvi has felicitated the nation on the 75th Independence Day.

After the flag hoisting ceremony at President House in Islamabad, President said “This day reminds us to pay rich tribute to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and leaders and workers of the Pakistan Movement who created a separate homeland for the Muslims of the Indian sub-continent,”

The tremendous successes achieved by Pakistanis, a brilliant and brave nation, in various fields had made the country distinguished from other nations. During this journey, Pakistan faced many challenges but it successfully overcame them with hard work, sacrifices and the support of the entire nation,” he added.

The President said the world must appreciate the fact that Pakistan singularly fought a long-drawn war against terrorism and eventually defeated the menace. The President said he wished to share in the happiness of his fellow countrymen on the auspicious occasion of celebrating the 74 years of Independence of Pakistan.
