Substantial increase in auto sale soars vehicle tax collection for FY 21


A substantial increase in auto sales has soared the motor vehicle tax collection to 50 percent in FY 21.

Ministry of Finance data reveals that total vehicle tax collected in Punjab during the year reached Rs.14.38 billion which is almost 50 percent more as compared with Rs 9.86 billion collected during the same period last year.

Similarly, a 59 percent increase has been seen in Sindh. Total collection in Sindh reached Rs 9.86 billion, compared with Rs 6.18 billion.

Moreover, 28.57 increase in KP while 41 percent increase in Tax collection has been recorded from Balochistan

The higher car sales will also result in more motor vehicle tax in the current fiscal year.
