In order to facilitate consumers to pay taxes through mobile phone, the Excise Taxation & Narcotics Control Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched “Zama KP”, a mobile application, media reported.
The Excise Taxation & Narcotics Control Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has prepared the App help of technical and financial assistance of Sub National Governance Program and Foreign & Common-Wealth Office of British Government.
The launching ceremony of the App was attended by Provincial cabinet members Shah Muhammad Wazir, Anwar Zaib Khan, Special Assistant for Excise & Taxation Mian Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, Members Provincial Assembly, Chief Secretary Dr. Kazim Niaz, SMBR Syed Zafar Ali Shah while CM KP was the chief guest at the event.

According to the details, in the first phase, consumers could pay Token Tax of motor vehicles while in the next phase; the consumers will be able to pay their tax of rest of taxes related to motor vehicles and property taxes. Similarly, consumers can pay fee of educational boards through the App “Zama KP”.
Chief Minister of KP While speaking to the launching ceremony said that Zama KP App was a historic and important step of the provincial government towards E-governance strategy. The initiative would not only facilitate people in payment of taxes but would also increase tax collection of provincial government, CM added.
The Chief Minister further said “like other departments of the provincial government, huge scale reforms are underway in Excise & Taxation Department as well,”. He added that the government has been working to digitize canal system in the province.
