Japan aims to invest $100 million in the automobile sector in Pakistan in order to begin hybrid vehicle production in Pakistan.
Abdul Razak Dawood, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment, met with Mr. Kuninori Matsuda, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, and discussed the impending plan to promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

According to a news statement published by the Ministry of Commerce, the Japanese Ambassador told that the ‘Toyota Corporation of Japan’ will invest approximately USD $ 100 million in Pakistan to produce and export hybrid vehicles.
He also extended an offer to visit Japan, which he accepted. The gathering covered topics such as two way cooperation and the organisation of business forums.

The possibility of Japan assisting in the improvement of focus areas of infrastructure and services for several sectors such as fisheries, salt, and food processing was also discussed.
