Door-to-door Covid-19 immunization campaign in KP from July 28


After National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) recommendations, KP health department is all set to commence door-to-door Covid-19 immunization campaign in 4 districts of the province from July 28. The population of the districts was the first criteria of the selection for door-to-door campaign. The health department is to cover at least 40 percent population by the mid of August. Districts include Abbottabad, Mansehra, Peshawar and Mardan.

The mentioned districts faced high positivity rate during the last 3 waves, said officials. These are the most populous districts of the province and considered the hubs of commercial activities.

The officials said that the health department would be taking the district administration, union council, revenue staff and police and other relevant departments in on board to ensure good outcome of the exercise. LHWs and technicians of EPI will run this door-to-door the campaign. Male population will receive their vaccine at their guest house, whereas Female population will receive their jabs at their homes.

Immunization campaign in Mardan already kicked-off. Phase II of campaign will include the districts of Charsada, Kohat, Nowshera, and DI Khan.

Currently, 3 million people have been vaccinated which cover 16% of 19 million target population of 18+. Also, NCOC has advised all the four provinces to vaccinate at least 40 percent of population of populous districts. Since the start of pandemic, KP has reported 141,627 cases and 4,417 deaths.
