Empowering people of Gilgit Baltistan through digitalization is a priority: Amin ul Haq

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Syed Amin-ul-Haq, has said that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, particularly young boys and girls, have a lot of talent and abilities. Every available help is being offered to speed up the digitizing process. Gilgit Software Technology Park is an excellent example. He said that empowering the people of Gilgit Baltistan through digitalisation is a top goal. On Friday, he met with Gilgit-Baltistan IT Minister Hussain Shah and Tourism and Sports Minister Raja Nasir Ali Khan in his office in Islamabad. On this occasion, mobile and broadband services in Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as 4G services and other initiatives were also discussed

According to Syed Amin-ul-Haq, plans are in the works to give high-speed internet access in Gilgit-Baltistan. Under Prime Minister Imran Khan’s goal to increase tourism, steps are being initiated to deploy 4G services on an emergency basis to important tourist attractions in Gilgit-Baltistan. The completion of which will give enormous amenities to tourists and the local residents. Syed Amin-ul-Haq stated in his address to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan that the benefits of all conceivable affairs and facilities pertaining to his ministry will be provided to them.

Speaking on the occasion, Gilgit-Baltistan IT Minister Hussain Shah stated that the world has come to know the potential of our region’s people through time.

Minister for Tourism and Sports Raja Nasir Ali Khan stated that there are numerous sites in Skardu, Gilgit and Baltistan that are referred to be paradise, but travelers have challenges owing to a lack of networking and cell access. However, the Federal Ministry of IT’s special interest, particularly Syed Aminul Haq, has increased expectations of addressing this issue.
