Balochistan Flood impacts Cell Sites

Numerous optic fibre failures brought on by the recent flash floods in Balochistan have an impact on voice and data services in Lasbela, Kech, Panjgoor, Gawadar, Awaran, Ziarat, Mastung, and surrounding districts. This was revealed in a notification released on Monday by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

According to the statement by PTA on its social media handle, the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited’s (PTCL) services as well as 343 cell sites belonging to the three cellular mobile providers Telenor, Zong, and Ufone have been impacted by floods

PTA reported that actions are being taken to address this unusual circumstance and that the authority is coordinating with the concerned operators to expedite the restoration of the impacted communication lines.
