AGP highlights shortcomings of the Siphon drainage system at Islamabad Airport

The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) in his report released on Monday highlighted the shortcomings of the Siphon drainage system at Islamabad Airport.

The report revealed negligence in the siphon drainage system for the roof of the passenger terminal building. Last year in the month of August the drainage system failed due to the rain, which flooded the Concours Hall, the Domestic Arrival Lounge, the CIP Lounge, and the International Departure Area, the report said.

In the report, AGP highlighted that there was no proper drainage system on the roof of Islamabad Airport. The Siphon drainage system was not designed according to the rainfall, the report added.

While highlighting the negligence of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials the report said that the drainage system worth Rs72 million is unworkable.
