PIA to conduct special flights to Najaf on Ashura

In order to facilitate pilgrims on Ashura, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to operate special flights to Najaf, Iraq.  The special flights will start from August 11.

Talking to the media a PIA spokesman said that PIA has devised a plan under that PIA will conduct special flights from Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi to Najaf, the city of Iraq.

He further said that PIA will conduct 11 flights to Najaf from 11 August while the return flights have been scheduled from Aug 21. A direct flight was the demand of pilgrims for a long time, he added.

Meanwhile, PIA has also introduced handsome fares for the facilitation of pilgrims from Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore.

PIA Chief Executive Officer, Arshad Malik, said that PIA had always extended its support on all religious occasions.

On July 16, Iraq’s private airline began direct flights from Najaf, Iraq to Karachi, Pakistan.
