The import of mobile phones and automobiles has decreased significantly in the current fiscal year. According to a Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data, imports of mobile phones decreased 71% and autos fell 80% in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.
The import bill for mobile phones was $462.7 million from July 2022 to March 2023, compared to $1.6 billion the previous year.
According to the official statistics, mobile phone imports fell 92% in March of this year. Car imports, on the other hand, fell by 80% in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

According to the data, cars worth $708.2 million were imported between July 2022 and March 2023. Cars worth $1.51 billion were imported over the same period previous year.
