Govt finalizes plan for dental college at Faisalabad: Dr. Yasmin Rashid

Punjab provincial government has a plan to build a new dental college at Faisalabad Medical University said Provincial Minister for Health, Dr. Yasmin Rashid here on Thursday.

While talking to media the provincial minister said that the government had finalized the plan for this project.

Yasmin stated that this year the provincial government had allocated a healthy budget of Rs. 370 billion for health, while the centre had also allocated Rs.22 billion for the health sector.

Answering the question regarding the Covid-19 fourth wave Dr Yasmin said that the wave was ferocious and asked people to exercise caution. The provincial minister also requested media to create awareness on vaccination.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid also informed that in the last 24 hours, Punjab reported 1240 new infection cases. She said that more than 70 percent cases are linked to the Delta variant, she informed.

The minister further said that the Punjab government has a plan to immunize 40 per cent of the population of major cities of the province by August 14.

She further apprised that the government aims to administer 600,000 vaccines (first and second dose) daily and hoped that a door-to-door vaccination campaign would help achieve the target.
