Pakistan is set to face Australia in the second of a three-match Test series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on December 26.

However, the Shan Masood-led side suffered a significant setback as the inclusion of right-arm pacer Khurram Shahzad is in doubt after he experienced pain on his left side.

According to media reports, the star fast bowler underwent an MRI scan in Melbourne, leaving the matter on medical team to determine his availability for the crucial Boxing Day Test Match.

Khurram Shahzad was one of the key performers for the visiting side, claiming a total of five wickets in his debut match—two in the first innings and three in the second.

The national team is currently preparing in Melbourne for the second clash, aiming to bounce back in the series after a humiliating defeat at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
